My name is Isaac Danzer. I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, hoping to graduate with a degree in English Language Arts Education in the Spring of 2025. I presently work as a paraprofessional at a Milwaukee public school. A lot of this work is as an aid to students with special needs, both in general education classrooms and in self-contained classrooms with students who range in grade levels from first through to eighth. I am pretty new in this position, but I’m really loving this work, and the pace of being in a school everyday for the majority of the day. One day, I hope to be an English teacher at the middle-high school level in a public school setting. This is a picture of me posing with a MTEA flier moments after I joined the Union.
Attached is a link to the DPI site’s Special Education Professional Learning Resources. This is a bank of information that I feel will be able to guide the work I currently perform and work in the future.

Isaac, it is wonderful to get more insight into your current and future education endeavors! It looks like you are gaining valuable experience as a paraprofessional in Milwaukee. I looked into MTEA and am interested to learn what this union does for Milwaukee based educators. The resource you posted will be good information for all educators of all content areas. Students with IEPs must be supported by every teacher they come across to receive an equal education as their peers. I am interested to learn about what your future goals are in your next blog post!
